Art has multiple benefits and it’s a great way to help children to think in new ways, to explore and broaden their horizons and to feel good while they are creating.
In This Is Art we are now exploring the basis to manipulate clay. Our 4th graders used an ancient technique called Pinch Pot Method and created these fantastic bowls with their bare hands. It’s a simple way to create handmade pottery just as our ancestors used to.
They had a great time working with clay and it was an excellent opportunity to enhance their problem solving skills as they were getting acquainted with this tactile material using mainly their sense of touch.
Without a trace of doubt, it was a fulfilling experience for all of us. But this is just the beginning… Keep posted for more inspiring This Is Art activities!
